9-11-01 343 NYC Firefighters, 35 NYC Police and 8NYC EMS responders were killed at the WTC - Over 2,700 civilians also were murdered that day!

WE WILL NEVER FORGET THEIR SACRIFICE!

 

Asst. Chief Albert Mack died in the line of duty in front of the old Rush Methodist Church  when he was killed by a high voltage wire that was hanging above his head during an ice storm on December 29, 1959. The memorial money collected was used to purchase and set up set up the "Al Mack Memorial Scout House" on Rush-Mendon Road.  The RFD Boy Scout Troop #134 has had exclusive of the of the building  since 1960.

 

Fire Police Officer Oscar Dell died in the line of duty  from a heart attack on January 7, 1988 at a working house fire on Pinnacle Road.  Oscar had held many offices in his years with the department including President of the fire company. He was the first Rush FD Explorer Post # 634 Advisor in 1976. Oscar was also a Town Justice for the Town of Rush.
